Identify & Learn About Nudibranchs - MacroDivers Species Database

A future identification resource for nudibranchs and underwater macro life.

Phase Two Project

The MacroDivers species database is being built as a practical identification resource for divers, underwater photographers and marine life enthusiasts.

Over time, this section will include species profiles with identification notes, size, habitat information, distribution, behaviour, similar species and photo examples from our dive trips.

Nudibranchs

Species profiles covering colour forms, rhinophores, external gills, mantle patterns, food sources, size range and similar-looking species.

Macro Subjects

Future guides for frogfish, seahorses, shrimps, crabs, octopus, pipefish and other small marine life.

Photo Examples

Images linked to locations, behaviour and identification features so the photography also supports learning.

What the database will track

The first version focuses on clear identification clues rather than just pretty pictures. Each entry connects the photograph with location, body shape, rhinophore details, gill or cerata arrangement, colour pattern, size, behaviour and similar-looking species.
